Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Attending Veterinarian, develop, deliver, conduct, and report technical skills training programs, and maintain training areas, learning laboratory and training animal colony in accordance with facility SOPs, Charles River policy and applicable Federal regulations.

Job Qualifications

Coordinate training schedules and activities with Human Resources and Operations. Coordinate competency assessment activities with IACUC and Veterinary teams.

Formulate teaching outlines and determine appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings and workshops.

Select and/or develop appropriate teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.

Tests trainee to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of technical training and level of knowledge and competency.

Report on progress of employees to management during and following training sessions.

Monitor trainee technical proficiency and make on-the-spot corrections to observed skill deficiencies.

Maintain teaching laboratory area and equipment in compliance with applicable site SOPs.

Maintain accurate and complete training and teaching laboratory records and recommend improvements/changes to current policies and documentation.

Care for and actively maintains training animal colony in accordance with approved CRADL SOPs, animal care and use protocols, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals , and Charles River policies. Adhere to and support Charles River Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals initiative and training directives. Comply with safety policies, procedures and MSDS guidelines, including those related to chemicals, biohazards, and equipment operation. Assist with the receipt, stocking, maintenance and inventory of training supplies. Assist with technical services to include:
handling and restraint, ear notching, tagging, weaning and sexing, tissue and blood collection, injections, sterilization techniques, and drug dosage calculations as assigned.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
