SCIENTIST ASSISTANTSOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA Project Description:
Receive and catalogue plasmid preps from various sources and distribute them to end-users.
Process requests for plasmid scaleup at an external vendor and confirm the sequence of the returned DNA prep.
Perform transient transfection for protein production in mammalian cell culture.
Routine monitoring of various instruments such as CO2 incubators and water baths conditions as requested.
o Receive and process purified proteins from external vendors.
Prepare solutions and buffers following established SOPs.
o Document data as needed in an electronic lab notebook Required Skills:
Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, life sciences, or other relevant area with 1-2 years of experience in wet lab work.
Prior experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile technique o Knowledge of DNA sequence analysis and plasmid preparation.
Experience with single- and multi-channel manual pipettes Strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures.
Ability to multi-task while working safely and independently o Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite This 12
month position starts ASAP.
