Head of Toxicology

The Head of Toxicology has the overall responsibility for toxicology activities at Global Blood Therapeutics, Inc. (GBT). The Head of Toxicology ensures that the toxicologists interact with the research and development teams to advance GBT's programs. The Head of Toxicology is responsible for the quality and timeliness of deliverables that support advancement of compounds to development and to progress development candidates to registration. Responsibilities:
Ensures adequate staffing of toxicologists and support personnel to meet Toxicology, Research and company goals Recruits qualified candidates for open positions Provides training and supervision for direct reports Ensures that goals for Toxicology support company goals Ensures that all Toxicology deliverables are completed on schedule Supervises Nonclinical Operations Team Provides guidance to ensure that nonclinical studies are conducted with attention to quality, timelines and budget Collaborates with Toxicology staff and with leaders in Research to develop critical pathways to select development candidates Maintains awareness of current and emerging standard practices and guidelines
Qualifications:
Academic training in toxicology, pathology or related discipline, preferably with advanced degree (Ph.D., D.V.M.) and board certification (DACVP, DABT) Experience in the pharmaceutical industry (minimum of 15 years) Track record of successfully recruiting and supervising toxicologists and support personnel Communicates in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders Excellent organizational and time management skills Experience with managing studies conducted at CROs Experience preparing regulatory submissions (IND, NDA, MAA) and clinical documents (IB) Leadership Competencies:

Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
