As an integral part of Genentech's Employment Law Group, the Immigration Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and improving the framework for the lawful employment of our foreign national workforce in the US. This includes leading the company's immigration program, policy development and governance, internal client consulting and support, supplier management and US I-9 escalation support for employment verifications and re-verifications for foreign nationals across Roche and its US affiliates. Responsibilities Partners with multiple internal stakeholders across the company's People and Culture organization, within the Employment Law Group and with external service providers to create a cohesive and comprehensive immigration strategy, to develop and improve programs, policies and administration, and to ensure workforce compliance. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Immigration programs for Genentech and US Roche Diagnostics affiliates Leads the transformation of the company's US immigration practice towards an enterprise, cross-affiliate support model by establishing enterprise wide standards, harmonizing policies and procedures across affiliates and establishing a unified service provider network that meets the company's compliance goals and aligns with the company's talent strategy Provides strategic consultation on immigration matters as a trusted advisor, coach and partner with varied stakeholders in People & Culture and the business, for Genentech and the US Roche Diagnostics organizations Builds and maintains successful and trusting relationships with business/affiliate clients, and stakeholders within the People & Culture Areas of Practice in Recruiting, Business Partnering, Mobility ,and People Support Solutions, among others Ensures immigration program alignment with strategic business priorities and organizational compliance objectives from planning to successful execution Drives organizational effectiveness including change management for clients Designs US immigration processes, executes decisions and ensures meaningful and clear communications of policies and procedures to all stakeholders Ensures compliance of all US immigration practices within area of responsibility and with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards, and other known relevant policies and guidelines Provides guidance and management of day-to-day operations with Immigration Service Providers; may also provide guidance and coordinate work activities of other personnel Monitors key data from Immigration Service Providers, identifies potential trends and offers solutions to effectively respond Manages Immigration Service Providers with clear monitoring and tracking of KPIs, costs and metrics Manages a caseload including:
defining immigration sponsorship strategies with Immigration Service Providers, supplier performance management, exceptions and escalation management Defines, develops and interprets US immigration policies and manages exception requests under consideration of interdependencies with workforce employment compliance matters Manages special projects and conducts research as necessary Participates in industry education and networking events to keep abreast of US immigration trends, legislation and best practices, and subsequently adjusts policies and processes to implement changes on an ongoing basis to provide the company with a competitive edge in its foreign national hiring strategy Acts proactively to address customer service issues, develops and provides training to People Support Solutions on I-9 compliance and US immigration challenges Independently applies extensive theoretical and cross-functional expertise in the context of company objectives to address complex problems Work is performed under limited direction and establishes own work priorities and timelines Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems and initiatives and exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, including inter-organizational impact Represents organization as a prime contact on initiatives and projects and participates in striving for a positive candidate and employee experience Serves as a prime employer contact for immigration agencies Embodies Genentech's Values:

Bachelor degree (business or related) or equivalent experience 8
years of relevant experience 5
years' experience with US business immigration, including temporary worker and permanent residence sponsorship Excellent leadership skills and performance excellence Strong customer focus and collaboration skills Solution and data-oriented approach to problem solving Ability to work collaboratively within a complex global and agile business environment Proven experience in project management Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Intercultural sensitivity CRP, PHR or GMS certifications a plus English language skills are a must, other languages a plus.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Program ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
