In line with the vision laid out in the Finance White Paper, the newly created R&D Finance Network supports pRED, gRED & PD and is focused on Finance Enterprise Partnering, advocating strong, trustful relationships based on a shared commitment to greater impact for patients as a whole company. This newly created R&D Finance operating model will enable Finance Enterprise partners to work as a network in one team. R&D Finance Enterprise Partners will be business-savvy professionals who can put themselves in the shoes of their stakeholders, as we collectively strive for integrated solutions that bring together elements of our broad offering across Pharma, Diagnostics, and Insights. They will catalyze cross-collaboration between R&D units - which continue to operate autonomously to maximize innovation - and bring a holistic, end-to-end view across the enterprise. Their touch points along the whole value chain will be combined with a network that can make things happen. Drawing from a deep well of relevant technical skills, as well as communication and storytelling, they will challenge the status quo, have eye-level conversations, and help stakeholders to navigate the polarities of a complex world. Your main responsibilities are Serve as a finance enterprise partner to molecule teams and/or development functions in early and/or late stage Serve as thought partner and leader in driving value creation in our pipeline, while also driving productivity and transformation initiatives across the teams. Drive transparency and insights to make good business decisions in support of our ambition. Help co-create and deliver the new R&D Finance model and advance the collaboration model between eCOE and other Finance units Build (and dissolve) networks across the organization to drive important business outcomes and initiatives Accelerate innovation and implement a true Digital Culture across the R&D Finance network Seek opportunities to self align interests with business need and impact, while committing to action We are looking for R&D Finance Enterprise Partners to focus on the following areas:
Various work-packages to business partner with molecule teams and/or R&D functions in early and/or late stage Location SSF / Basel (co-location with the business) One work-package to lead the Digital & Innovation Squad and focusing on driving the digital outcomes and integrating digital in the R&D Finance operating model and ways of thinking Location SSF / Basel (co-location with the business) One work-package to enable the CICoR cluster supporting the R&D Leaders with the overall China R&D operation and strategy Location:

University degree and minimum 5
years of relevant finance experience, ideally including several years of experience as business partner or global controller Excellent ability to interact with and influence decision-making at senior management levels, strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to synthesize complex analyses into pragmatic and actionable guidance for business partners Ability to network throughout a global, complex and matrixed organization and able to bring a dynamic and entrepreneurial mindset, seeking continuous opportunities and improvement Strategic agility to develop flexible scenarios and solutions; anticipate changing internal and competitive landscapes, can envision the future state of finance and the business and lead team(s) to develop and execute long-term initiatives Passion for the drug development processes and ability to work with ambiguity, balancing risk and reward and take smart risk Proven record of providing financial stewardship and ensuring Financial governance Proven leadership and coaching skills with a passion to develop and nurture talent High motivation to work collaboratively and to enable agile ways of working, creative mindset and empowered decision-making Bachelor degree is required, MA/MBA is a plus.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
