The PACS Administrator I is responsible for the image and information integrity of the enterprise PACS and other supported systems. This individual will also triage incoming support calls for Imaging Informatics supported systems and associated components as well as acts as a digital imaging liaison within the imaging department and to other departments.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for day-to-day PACS operations including image workflow, archiving, quality assurance, study integrity and other related activities. Answer incoming calls to the PACS support line to support daily operations. Produce comprehensive documentation, prioritization, and timely follow up for PACS related issues. Works closely with department operations managers to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM image data into the PACS as well as network transmission, RIS validation, and exception handling. Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve problems within all applicable operational areas, working closely with department managers. Reviews feedback from end users, compiles and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate. Works closely with radiology quality management personnel to identify future needs and to design efficient workflow processes. Monitor the incoming support call list to ensure timely resolution of issues according to established service level agreements. Account management, including creating, deleting, modifying system accounts and resetting lost or forgotten systems passwords. Patient database management, including corrections and merging/splitting of records. Assist with project documentation and project related tasks. Qualifications:
Experience - Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a large imaging department or imaging modality using a PACS system. - Minimum one (1) year of experience using MS office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Education - Associate's degree in computer science, management information systems, radiologic sciences or health related field OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A. Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with specific radiology- and imaging-specific applications such as orthopedic templating, 3D reconstruction, and speech recognition. - Demonstrated excellent written and oral customer service skills. Preferred
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working with Mckesson PACS. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, radiologic sciences or health related field. - MCSE, MCSA or MCP Windows Certification. - Familiarity with MS Visio and Sharepoint applications.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Legal & RegulatoryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
