As the Head for Individualized and Cell Therapies Technical Development you will be responsible for the Technical Development of Individualized and Cell Therapies Neoantigen selection by genomics, biosample, and bioinformatics workflows (GB2) Process development Analytical development & analytical operations As a member of the Roche Cell and Gene Therapy (PTC) Leadership Team you will play a key role in developing, shaping and implementing the overall technical strategy of our company in the Cell & Gene Therapy space. Key Responsibilities & Job Requirements Leadership / Management Strategic leadership of process development and analytical development & operations for Individualized Therapies and Cell Therapies Direct functional line manager for a cross-functional team of highly experienced leaders representing several functions:
Biosample, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Nucleic Acid Process Development, Nucleic Acid Therapies Analytical Development & Operations, Cell Therapy Engineering Process Development, Cell Therapy Engineering Analytical Development & Operations Member / Leader of Joint Manufacturing Committee(s) with external partner companies for Individualized Therapies and Cell Therapies thereby developing and executing joint CMC development plans. Technical guidance of Research project teams for Individualized Therapies and Cell Therapies Support and guidance for external partner companies and CMOs in Process Development & Clinical Supply for Roche/Genentech sponsored clinical trials Global responsibilities include close collaboration with counterparts in partner companies to develop robust processes, formulations and analytical methods and with the Roche/Genentech Hillsboro Individualized Therapies manufacturing facility to transfer those processes and methods. The GB2 (Genomics, Biosample, Bioinformatics) team responsible for the establishment and growth of a new Biosample/Genomics/Bioinformatics function serving cell and gene therapies (CGTs) within PT. This team is responsible for development, implementation and execution of tissue, genomics and bioinformatics workflows that are required to meet clinical supply requirements and process development needs of the growing CGT portfolio The Nucleic Acid Therapies Process & Analytical Development/Operations team responsible for drug substance, drug product process and analytical development groups for nucleic acid based individualized neoantigen specific immunotherapies (iNeSTs). This team provides development of the robust manufacturing processes, formulation, analytical and equipment development, and process/knowledge transfer for iNeSTs The Cell Engineering Therapies Process & Analytical Development (CETD) team responsible for the process and analytical development of cell based autologous and allogeneic therapies. This group of highly technical individuals is responsible for integrated genetic engineering, formulation, analytical and equipment development for cell therapies from research through the commercial stage. Internal/External partnership and global collaboration. This role will also provide strategic direction towards the close collaboration with counterparts in internal Roche/Genentech organizations and partner companies to co-create the cell and gene therapy strategic plan. Experience:
PhD in Life Sciences or Engineering 15
years or more experience in biotech/pharma industry Working knowledge of nucleic acid biochemistry and advanced genetic engineering of cells Working knowledge of next generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics is desirable Demonstrated ability to lead a team of experienced leaders Demonstrated financial and project management skills Collaboration/Influence Management, Decision Making, Leadership and Results Orientation Ability to work effectively with cross-functional & multi location teams Ability to learn quickly in unfamiliar territory and to deal with ambiguity Demonstrated ability to operate independently under general management direction and make sound decisions and be accountable for those decisions Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills Strong quality orientation in an environment where a quality framework is not fully developed Additional Requirements:

Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
